Pugsley raising smiles in Escort Mk1

Mike Pugsley is raising more than a few smiles in this year’s Protyre MSA Asphalt Rally Championship by putting in some spectacular performances in his flying 1974 Escort Mk1 RS2000.

The Welshman has owned the car since 2013, and the immaculate machine is totally self-prepared from his Bedlinog garage.

Last time out, Pugsley fulfilled a 25-year ambition to rally in Northern Ireland, and in doing so extended his commanding class B12 lead after a great run on the Carryduff Folklift Down Rally.

Using Hoosier tyres supplied by Protyre Motorsport, Pugsley will now contest the forthcoming Old Forge Garage Mewla Rally, where he’ll be co-driven by Stuart Powell.
