OnThePaceNote creates exciting new incentive for Asphalt junior drivers

OnThePaceNote will offer junior competitors in the 2021 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship an array of incentives and awards – the top one being a free test in a Hyundai i20 R5 rally car going to the best placed junior driver at the end of the season.

The exciting new partnership is designed to develop the skills of junior rally drivers and co-drivers on asphalt, and everyone who is eligible for the OnThePaceNote Junior Prize will have access to any of its specialist training days run by CPM Training. These may include new asphalt training days at the Trawsfynydd ranges in north Wales.

The top placed junior driver at the end of the season will win a free test on asphalt in a Hyundai i20 R5 rally car, prepared and run by PCRS Rallysport.

The top placed junior co-driver at the end of the season will win a £50 cash voucher from Nicky Grist Motorsports.

To be eligible, competitors must not have previously won the junior championship, be under 25-years of age on 1 January 2021 and use OnThePaceNote route notes, supplied directly by them. Only individual rallies that permit the use of OnThePaceNote route notes will count towards the overall Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship junior awards.

The fantastic OnThePaceNote Junior Prize is just the latest in a series of lucrative awards up for grabs in the 2021 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship.

Mintex will continue to offer a fantastic event-by-event award for the best improvement on seeding, plus a draw at the end of the season to for an Under 25 driver to win a cheque for £500.

The Hendy Ford Performance Trophy, plus a voucher for £100 redeemable at Hendy Ford Motorsport, will be presented to the driver of the highest placed registered two-wheel drive naturally aspirated Ford, in the overall points table at the end of the season.

The winning driver in the new Ford Escort Challenge will receive a custom made and fitted stainless steel exhaust system courtesy of Scott Williams Motorsport, while the winning co-driver will receive a voucher worth £100 from Nicky Grist Motorsports.

Fairfield Motorsport, which offers favourable travel and accommodation packages for registered Championship contenders, will award trophies to the first registered overall driver and co-driver who travelled to events with them, together with an end of season cash prize draw.

Craig Parry, OnThePaceNote UK, said: “Myself and Killian [Duffy, OnThePaceNote founder] are delighted to add the Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship to the OnThePaceNote Junior Scheme and we look forward to working with the Championship in 2021. We will hopefully see a great battle for this amazing prize of a test drive in an R5 car, that we are able to offer thanks to Phillip Case at PCRS.”

Jane Evans, Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship Co-ordinator, said: “We are proud to add the OnThePaceNote Junior Prize to our growing list of awards and incentives, and to work with Craig [Parry] and Killian [Duffy] on this exciting new partnership. It’s important for the future of rallying that we encourage young drivers and co-drivers to enter the sport and to then help them develop their skills, and the expert training and wonderful overall prizes offered to our under twenty-five year old competitors is a fantastic new initiative.”
