Duns gets ready for Jim Clark Rally return

Regulations for the Beatson’s Building Supplies Jim Clark Rally – Round 2 of the BTRDA-run Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship – will be published on Thursday 14 April, with entries opening four days later on Monday 18 April.

Due to the pandemic, the rally has not run since 2019 – but it will return this year with a new look and longer event.

Duns Square will host a ceremonial start on Friday (27 May) evening before crews head straight to two moorland stages, which are likely to be held under the cover of darkness, before returning to Duns for the overnight halt.

Saturday (28 May) will see a further seven stages run over the closed public roads of Berwickshire, with crews returning to Duns for the finish ceremony in the early evening.

“The rally organisers have been working extremely hard to create one of the most spectacular Jim Clark Rally weekends for many years and we are delighted to be progressing our plans towards yet another exciting event for the region in May,” said Dan Wright, Chairman of the organisers Jim Clark Memorial Motor Club.

“Announcing the opening date for entries to the rally is a thrilling time for us all as it brings all our hard work together. We are certain that competitors, rally fans and the community will love what we have in store this year and we look forward to welcoming everyone to Duns at the end of May.”

Spectator information will be released closer to the rally and there is an opportunity for those who want to get up close to the action and volunteer to marshal on the event, to attend a dedicated Marshals Training Day in Duns on Saturday 9 April.
