Entries opening for the East Riding Stages

Entries will open tomorrow morning for Round 1 of the 2023 Protyre BTRDA Asphalt Rally Championship in association with Motorsport News – the Reed Group East Riding Stages Rally.

Entries will open online via the event website (bdmc.org.uk/east-riding-stages) at 09:00 on Friday 6 January and close at 14:00 on Sunday 8 January.

Entries received during these three days will be treated equally, with a ballot system randomly selecting 120 entries. Beverley & District Motor Club will then select a further 20 entries at its discretion.

The East Riding Stages Rally takes place on Sunday 26 February and will feature a similar, extended to around 50 stage mile, format to 2022 – with two loops of four stages held on closed roads in East Yorkshire.

Following the success of the inaugural East Riding Stages Rally – an event which was shortlisted as a finalist for the 2022 Remarkable East Yorkshire Tourism Awards – and the anticipated high demand for entries, the number of starters has been increased from 100 to 140.

The ceremonial start (with the first car leaving at 09:00) and podium prize-giving (from 15:20) will take place in a new fan zone in the historic Market Cross in Beverley Market Place. There will be a new centralised service area located at Normandy Barracks Leconfield, situated just outside Beverley, and a spectator area at Burton Constable Hall.

Regulations for the 2023 Protyre BTRDA Asphalt Rally Championship are available online at asphaltrallying.com and drivers and co-drivers can enter the Championship online at https://www.btrdamembership.com.

Championship registration and BTRDA membership is free to new members Under 25s for their first year of registration.
