We’re all missing real rallying at the moment, s We’re all missing real rallying at the moment, so the Protyre Motorsports UK Asphalt Rally Championship is launching an open and FREE to enter eSports championship on the fantastic DiRT Rally 2.0 game!

The best WRC asphalt stages, which represent the very best British sealed-surface speed tests, have been selected for a five round series – like the Col de Turini, Panzerplatte and the twisty closed roads above Barcelona.

We have also tried to select a variety of cars that best represent Britain’s premier asphalt rally series, from the ones available on the DiRT Rally 2.0 game.

The championship will therefore be:

Round 1
Spain (8 stages) – fast smooth closed roads
Cars: Group A – Mitsubishi Evo, Subaru Impreza/Legacy, Lancia Delta Integrale, Ford Escort Cosworth)

Round 2
Germany (6 stages) – military asphalt and concrete roads
Cars: Group B RWD – Lancia 037, Opel Manta 400, BMW M1, Porsche 911

Round 3
Monte Carlo (7 stages) – closed mountain roads with snow, ice and dry sections
Cars: WRC 2-litre – Subaru Impreza WRC, Peugeot 206 WRC, Škoda Fabia WRC, Ford Focus WRC, Citroën C4 WRC

Round 4
Spain (6 stages) – paella at the mid-day service halt
Cars: Historic RWD – Ford Escort Mk2, Fiat 131 Abarth, Opel Kadett GTE, Renault Alpine A110

Round 5
Germany (7 stages) – watch out for those hinkelsteins
Cars: R5 – Ford Fiesta, Peugeot 208, Mitsubishi Mirage, VW Polo, Citroën C3, Škoda Fabia

No stage is exactly the same, and each stage has been designed as a challenge for newcomers and more experienced gamers alike – not outrageously difficult, but with some tricky weather conditions and some night stages to master!

All fans have to do is log on to the Codemaster Racenet section and add ‘Protyre Asphalt’ to your list of club favourites – and you’ve entered the series, absolutely FREE.

The ‘Protyre Asphalt’ championship will start on Monday 27 April at 4pm BST.
The opening round of the 2020 @team_protyre @ourmo The opening round of the 2020 @team_protyre @ourmotorsportuk Asphalt Rally Championship, the Legend Fires @northweststages (Saturday 20 March), has been postponed, owing to the #coronavirus outbreak.
A statement, issued by the event organisers Motorsport North West, says: ‘The organisers of the 2020 Legend Fires North West Stages Rally have had to make the very difficult decision to postpone next week's event in view of the worsening situation with the Coronavirus pandemic.
In addition to the commercial consideration that every day closer to the event leaves us exposed to significantly more financial risk, most importantly we have taken into account the fact that the event attracts competitors, press, support crews and spectators from all over the country and we feel that to continue with the event would not be responsible or in the best interests of the community.
Although tonight’s government statement is not as bad as anticipated, it is clear than the virus will continue to escalate over the coming days.  Today we had to make financial commitments to numerous organisations that would have meant any subsequent cancellation next week would have bankrupted the organising club.
Although cancelling this week will result in heavy losses it does mean that we should be able to survive to see the event run in the future.
We wish to thank everyone who committed to the event, especially the many people who have given up hundreds of hours of their time in organising. We do not intend that to be wasted and will be seeking ways of selecting a new date for the event.
To the competitors, we understand your disappointment, but can assure you it’s not a fraction of the disappointment felt by the organising team.
It was important that we let people know this decision as soon as possible but please be patient with us, we will clarify more detail in the days to come.’
