The battle for the ‘Protyre Asphalt’ eSports tournament title has intensified after the two gamers who are first and second in the overall points table finished in first and second places in Round 3.
ewantindall took his second win in as many events, as the Protyre Motorsports UK Asphalt Rally Championship eSports game was run over seven Monte Carlo Rally stages.
He was closely followed home by NickyL555, the winner of the opening round.
Just 12 points now separate them at the top of the leaderboard, as this week’s penultimate round of the DiRT Rally 2.0 based tournament begins.
The Citroën C4 Rally was the 2-litre World Rally Car of choice last week in the south of France, with nine of them finishing in the top 10.
For a second time in a row, ewantindall recorded the fastest time on every stage – but only just, as he was chased hard by the likes of NickyL555, Suter555UK and Madashatters24.
But at the end of the Alpes-Maritimes encounter, ewantindall won Round 3 by 20.52 seconds, with NickyL555 finishing second and YarnBarn completing the podium.
Round 4 has automatically started, with competitors having until 4pm next Monday (25 May) to complete six Rally Spain stages.
This week competitors get to drive rear-wheel drive historic cars from his great selection of classics: Ford Escort Mk2, Fiat 131 Abarth, Opel Kadett GTE and a Renault Alpine A110.
