This year’s PokerStars Rally, which plays host to the double-header round of the 2021 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship, promises to include some familiar classic Isle of Man stages, as well as a few new twists, when it takes place on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 October.
Organised by Manx Auto Sport, this year’s event will contain two challenging days of competition, covering 120 miles and 13 special stages.
Pre-event reconnaissance will take place on two of the four optional days with the iconic TT Grandstand providing central servicing for teams.
Regulations will be published online on 14 July, with entries opening on Sunday 18 July at 19.00.
Competitors are encouraged to read the entry criteria in the Regulations with regards to the acceptance of entries.
“We are pleased to announce that the PokerStars Rally will be going ahead this October,” says Mark Quayle, Clerk of the Course.
“We have prepared yet another classic event that our previous competitors will be familiar with, but with the addition of several new twists, ensuring the rally can be enjoyed by both crews and fans alike.
“It’s been a difficult twelve months for everyone of course and motorsport on the island has been hit hard by the pandemic. Our two showcase events, the Manx National and PokerStars Rally are highly regarded in the UK and further afield, so not being able to run the events since 2019 has been a huge blow for the club and communities.
“But we have been working hard to produce another classic Manx offering in 2021 and are excited to be able to bring rallying back to the island again.”
The organisers have arranged a host of incentives for both crews and volunteers who wish to make the trip to the island for the rally.
“We have been working hard behind the scenes to provide a cost-effective solution for everyone to visit the event and the Isle of Man,” adds Mark.
“The standard entry fee will be a competitive £655, but thanks to our official travel partner Isle of Man Event Services, we can also offer a travel package for car and van, plus two adults and a trailer up to 10.5m for just £1,015.
“We of course need a small army of volunteers to help run the event safely and can also offer those travelling to assist on both days of the rally a refund of up to 50% of your travel costs based on a minimum of a car and two people. If competitors who are making the trip across know of any willing volunteers, we would be delighted to hear from them.”
