Regulations will be published at 12:00 on Wednesday 25 August, with Entries opening at 19.00 on Tuesday 31 August, for the Ford Parts Cheviot Stages Rally.
Traditionally the final winner-takes-all round of the Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship, this year’s event takes place on Sunday 24 October and is the penultimate round of the sealed-surface series.
Jointly organised by Whickham and District Motor Club and Hadrian Motor Sports Club, the rally will once again feature a fantastic route over the challenging Otterburn military range in Northumberland – which has witnessed some fantastic battles over the years.
No battle was more exciting than in 2019, when Alan Kirkaldy won the event in his Cairnsmill Caravan Park-backed Ford Fiesta R5, Damian Cole battled superbly to finish just three seconds behind after gearbox problems with his Get Connected Rally Team Ford Fiesta WRC, while Jason Pritchard came home third in his North Road Garage Ford Focus WRC05.
And those three seconds were to prove crucial, as the result gave Jason back-to-back Protyre Asphalt Rally Championship driver titles by just one point and deny Damian his seventh Asphalt title by the narrowest of margins.
