BTRDA opens applications for a new Protyre Asphalt Rally Championship Co-ordinator

It’s a big thank you from the BTRDA to the man in charge of the Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship for the last three years, Paul Morris.

Now with 200 registered competitors, a title sponsor secured for the next two years, a 2025 calendar and sporting regulations in place, a strong group of trade partners and class award sponsors, a million online action views already this year and an experienced backroom staff, the BTRDA hopes that whoever takes over as Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship Co-ordinator in 2025 will be able to build on the strong foundation that Paul and his team established.

Paul took over the day-to-day running of the Protyre Asphalt Championship at the beginning of 2022 and, ably assisted by Donna Preston and Paul Wakely, used his vast experience as both a competitor and a co-ordinator to not just return the UK’s premier sealed-surface series to the glory days of the 1980s and ‘90s but develop a super friendly and seriously fun atmosphere.

Paul and Donna are getting married in 2025 and if planning for that happy event wasn’t time-consuming enough a new job has taken away the remaining spare time that Paul needs to co-ordinate the series.

The BTRDA is now looking for a Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship Co-ordinator, while Paul has very kindly offered to not only supply a comprehensive handover package but help and mentor the new co-ordinator, should he or she wish.

“On behalf of the BTRDA, I’d like to thank Paul and Donna for all their fantastic work over the last three years, which has once again established the Protyre Asphalt Rally Championship as the UK’s premier sealed-surface rally series,” says Mike Broad, President of the BTRDA.

“We wish them both all the very best for the future and thank Paul for his kind offer to assist and mentor the new championship co-ordinator as they settle into their new role.”
