Will Hill ready for home Hills Ford Stages in Fiesta Rally2

Having already won the 2024 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship class B14 title, Will Hill will contest the final round of the series – this weekend’s Hills Ford Stages (14-15 September) which his family business sponsors – in a Ford Fiesta Rally2.

The 31-year old has been sensational in his Hills Ford Fiesta Rally3 over the past two seasons.

He won class B14 in 2023 in the four-wheel drive 1.5 litre EcoBoost engined M-Sport built car (against predominantly mega powerful Subarus and Mitsubishis) and took home third-place overall points on the Dunoon Presents Argyll Rally and fourth-place overall points on the Carryduff Forklift Down Rally to finish an incredible fourth in the overall drivers’ standings.

This year Will is sixth in the overall drivers’ standings, having finished as high as fourth in Argyll.

Will will be co-driven on the Hills Ford Stages by Richard Crozier, while his father Tim Hill (co-driven by Paul Spooner) contests the event in the Hills Ford Fiesta Rally3.

“We’re parking the Rally3 and stepping up just as a one-off,” Will told Motorsport News.

“The event runs where our dealership is, just down the road. We’ve been lucky enough to be involved with it since the inaugural event in 2019.

“The feedback on the stages is brilliant, and there’s a lot of quick drivers who comment on how enjoyable these roads are to drive. it’s got a fantastic entry across all the classes.

“The route is very compact and there’s not a lot of road mileage. The stages have got longer each year, so they’ve given us a bit more stage distance, which is great.

“The Fiesta Rally2 is from Dom Buckley RSC and it’s the car that Osian Pryce has been driving this year in the BRC. It’s all in asphalt trim straight from Rali Ceredigion.

“Obviously, it’s a big deal and quite a step up for us.

“I’m very, very excited and very much looking forward to getting behind the wheel.”

The Hills Ford Stages starts tomorrow (Saturday 14 September) with a ceremonial start in Ledbury’s historic marketplace – which is immediately followed by a stage run twice. There will be a full day of action on Sunday (15 September) with service at the Much Marcle Showground near Ledbury.
