Almost 100 registrations already received for 2025 Protyre Asphalt Championship

Almost 100 competitors have registered to contest the 2025 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship – including FIVE former champions, who between them have won the drivers’ title 13 times!

Callum Black (champion in 2023 and ’24) has entered the opening round of the 2025 series, the East Riding Stages on 23 February, in his Pallas Connections Ford Fiesta Rally2, together with defending co-drivers’ champion Jack Morton alongside.

Three-time champion Jason Pritchard (2018, ’19 and ’21) will make his Protyre Asphalt debut in his new North Road Garage Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, with former champion Phil Clarke co-driving.

Six-time champion Damian Cole (2010, ’11, ’12, ’13, ’14 and ’16) has entered in his Get Connected Citroën C3 Rally2. He’ll be co-driven on the opening round by Michael Gilbey.

Steve Wood (Citroën C3 Rally2) and Stephen Simpson (Tudor Glass Fiesta Rally2) – who won the title in 2022 and 2007 respectively – have registered as well and will both contest the East Riding Stages.

They will be battling with drivers intent on winning the Protyre Asphalt title for the first time – most notably Sam Touzel (Smart Scaffolding/Express Auto Parts Fiesta Rally2), Mark Kelly (Kelmore Volkswagen Polo GTI R5), Brad Cole (Hydroline Solutions Fiesta Rally2), Hugh Brunton (Škoda Fabia Rally2), Richard Weatherley (TCS Micropumps Citroën C3 Rally2), Roger Duckworth (Technia Fiesta R5), John Stone (Legend Fires Volkswagen Polo GTI R5), David White (Whites Bakery/Mirage/Sandwich King Fiesta R5) and David Wright (GPM/DamperTek/Grove Hill Garage Fiesta R5) – while three-time runner-up Neil Roskell has also registered in his ND Civils/Burdens/Witham Motorsport Fiesta Rally2.

There is plenty of quality in the classes, with Kyle Casement returning in his BVS Vehicles Citroën C2, Charlie Wright coming back in his Harper Adams University-prepared Fiesta R2, Huw James returning in his A&D Tyres Escort Mk2, Adrian Spencer (RED Industries/Adgespeed Subaru Impreza S11 WRC replica), Joe Mckeand (Subaru Impreza), Max Murray (Citroën DS3 R3T), Gareth Humphreys (Stratos Motorsport Mini Cooper S), Mark Holmes (Escort Mk1), Ant Allery (C Salter Demolitions Escort Mk2), George Heighway (Toyota Corolla), Nathan Evans (Tuned Motorsport UK/The Kitchen Installers Renault Clio 3 RS) and father and son duo Roger and Tommi Henderson in their DKMS We Delete Blood Cancer Fiesta Rally2 – to name but a very few.

The Championship registration fee remains the same as in previous years for drivers and co-drivers, and it includes full membership to the BTRDA, live event streaming, a dedicated PR and photographic service, a huge number of awards and incentives and much more.

Protyre Asphalt Rally Championship registration closes at signing on for Round 4, the Dunoon Presents Argyll Rally (20/21 June), and the best five scores from seven rounds count.
