Regulations for Round 2 of the 2025 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship, the Manx Rally, will be published tomorrow (Friday 25 January), with entries opening on Sunday 2 February.
The Manx Auto Sport organised event won the Protyre Asphalt ‘Rally of the Year’ award last year, and it will again feature 18 of the very best Isle of Man closed road stages totalling 120 competitive miles on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 April.
Having first run in 1963, the Manx Rally is one of the longest-established closed road rallies in the UK and past winners include Colin McRae, Richard Burns, Elfyn Evans, Henri Toivonen, Ari Vatanen, Roger Clark, triple Asphalt champion Jason Pritchard, double champion Callum Black, Neil Roskell, Hugh Hunter and last year’s winner James Williams.
This year’s Manx will start with a free shakedown session on Friday morning for all competitors. Then the competitive action will start at around mid-day and run through Friday afternoon and evening before a further full day on Saturday, ahead of a late afternoon finish back at the TT Grandstand in Douglas.
A bumper entry is expected, with a maximum of 140 cars. A competitive entry fee promises to make the event outstanding value once again, as one of the longest and most rewarding closed road rallies in the UK.
In addition, the new £78 million Manxman ferry from the Isle of Man Steam Packet has improved access to the island with increased capacity from the UK.
“This is an iconic rally with an outstanding history, and we look forward to welcoming many crews to the island in April,” says Clerk of the course, Chris Woodcock.
“We anticipate there being space on the entry list for everyone who wants to come and sample the magic of closed road rallying on the Isle of Man.”
