The Dunoon Presents Argyll Rally – Round 4 of the 2025 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship on 20/21 June – promises to be the most thrilling edition yet, with Mull Car Club planning a refreshed closed road stage route in and around the stunning Cowal Peninsula.
Competitors and rally fans are in for a treat, with a tried and tested formula being mixed with several variations and new stages to keep the challenge fresh and exciting.
The action begins on Friday 20 June with the much-loved Dunoon town centre stage. This three-quarter mile sprint through the bustling streets will be run twice in quick succession.
From there, the rally shifts to the countryside for five demanding stages, culminating in the spectacular Oyster Catcher test, which will run over the full eight-mile length. This challenging route, held under cover of darkness, will push competitors to their limits before they return to Dunoon around 22:00, completing nearly 26 competitive miles.
The intensity ramps up with nine special stages on Saturday (21 June), bringing the total to 72 miles. These tests include an additional section added to the popular Bealach Maim stage to give it a fast and furious ending over an additional three miles called Kilfinan. An entirely new stage – Millhouses – at the southern end of the Cowal Peninsula provides four miles of narrow, challenging roads.
The route will test both cars and crews, offering a comprehensive challenge and will be based once again at Dunoon Stadium, hosting service and pre-event documentation.
“We’re thrilled to present a revitalised format that combines the best aspects of previous years with exciting new elements,” says Clerk of the Course Sam Spencer.
“2025 will be a landmark year for the rally and the local community. We can’t wait to welcome fans and competitors to Dunoon for a truly unforgettable experience.”
