BREAKING NEWS: Jason Pritchard scores max Protyre Asphalt points on the Manx

Jason Pritchard/Phil Clarke have provisionally scored maximum Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship points on the Proflex Manx Rally in their Pirelli-shod North Road Garage/Guttercrest Toyota GR Yaris Rally2.

The five-time event winners finished second overall (behind non-registered Garry Jennings/Rory Kennedy in a Ford Fiesta Rally2).

Jason was the leading Protyre Asphalt driver overnight, but dropped to third after today’s opening stage (SS11) – only to retake the BTRDA series lead after SS13 and extended his advantage over the final five stages to finish 50.9 seconds ahead of his nearest championship rivals – which were Mark Kelly/Will Atkins in their Kelmore Volkswagen Polo GTI R5.

Neil Roskell/Rob Fagg have come home third in their Michelin-shod ND Civils/Burdens/Witham Motorsport Ford Fiesta Rally2, while a last stage puncture dropped Sam Touzel/Max Freeman down to fourth in their Smart Scaffolding/Express Auto Parts Fiesta Rally2.

Gordon Montana Morrison/Charlotte McDowall have won the 2WD category, beating Huw James/Lewis Sim by just 5.1 seconds in the battle for Escort Mk2 supremacy.

All the above is provisional of course and dependant on crews getting to the final time control!
