Four best scores from six to count after Hills Ford Stages cancellation

Following the cancellation of this year’s Hills Ford Stages (13/14 September), which was scheduled to be the sixth and penultimate round of the 2025 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship, the best four scores from six rounds will now count towards the overall and class titles.

Under the published championship regulations, the BTRDA series organisers had several force majeure options to consider – including introducing a replacement event on the same date (there was nothing suitable available) and changing a current event into a double header scoring round. However, as the only round after the Hills Ford Stages is the Nigel Ferguson Fabricators Tour of Epynt, and with some competitors already planning to use the final round as one of their two dropped score events (some with holidays already booked and others with unmovable work commitments) it was felt that altering the number of scores to count was the fairest option for all.

The final two rounds of the 2025 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship will therefore be the R Kings Down Rally (19 July) and the Nigel Ferguson Fabricators Tour of Epynt (27/28 September).

The Protyre Asphalt Rally Championship Gala Prizegiving and Awards ceremony will take place at the Drayton Manor Hotel (near Tamworth in Staffordshire) on Saturday 8 November.

We’d like to extend our sympathies to Cheltenham Motor Club, who have organised a tremendous round of the Protyre Asphalt Championship in recent years and who have worked tirelessly to try and put on another outstanding rally this year.

We hope that the Hills Ford Stages will return in all its glory in 2026.
