Luke Constantine set to give Opel Corsa Rally4 its Protyre Asphalt debut

An Opel Corsa Rally4 will contest a round of the Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship for the first time, when the reigning Junior champion Luke Constantine contests the Manx National Rally (8-9 May).

Co-driven by Ifan Devine, the talented Catterick youngster’s last event in his title-winning Constantine Motorsport Opel Adam R2 was this year’s East Riding Stages, before switching to his new Stellantis Motorsport and Race and Rally supplied Corsa Rally4.

Three-time British rally champion and driver coach Matt Edwards sat in with Luke during his first test of the Opel, before he made his competition debut in the car on the Yorkshire Dales Rally.

That initial outing highlighted the potential of the Corsa Rally4, although losing five minutes with a puncture ruined what could have been an excellent result.

Luke then did two gravel events, making his BRC debut on the Severn Valley Stages, before finishing an impressive first in class, first FWD car home and 18th overall on the Kielder Forest Rally.

Luke won the Protyre Asphalt class on the Manx last year, which is where he’s heading next.

“I’m really looking forward to this year’s Manx National Rally,” says Luke.

“The 2025 event was my first full closed road rally and I absolutely loved it. The stages are absolutely insane, especially The Baldwins stage which is a personal favourite of mine.

“We will also be welcoming a new sponsor onboard, who is actually a resident from the island, which is pretty special. A massive thank you to Sol Aire – Modern Heating Solutions for your support!

“This year we are coming with my brand-new Opel Corsa Rally4 which we will be contesting the Protyre Asphalt Rally Championship in, as well as the Stellantis Trophy UK and the Junior BRC.

“The Manx will only be my second time on asphalt in the new car, although that was the same story last year and we went on to win the Protyre class, so let’s hope we have the same good run this year.

“To finish, I would like to say a huge thanks to my sponsors for their continued support!”

Luke is supported by Michelin Motorsport, Momentum Financial Solutions, Royal Purple, Advanced Vehicle Leasing, Victoria Garage Richmond, Constantine Building Services, Castle Timber Buildings, Mike Percival Plumbing, Sol Aire, CCF, Motorsport Direct and Go Interiors.
