Sensational seeded entry list unveiled for Manx National Rally

The seeded entry list for Round 2 of the Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship, the Manx National Rally (8-9 May), has been unveiled – with defending BTRDA sealed surface champions Sam Touzel/Max Freeman seeded at number one in their PB Engineering-run and Michelin-shod Smart Scaffolding/Trade Centre UK Ford Fiesta Rally2.

The capacity field of 170 cars is considered to be the biggest entry for a rally on the Isle of Man in the 60-year history of closed-road rallying on the island. 

Around 70 are Protyre Asphalt registered crews.

Three-time Protyre Asphalt champions Jason Pritchard/ Phil Clarke are seeded at number two in their Pirelli-shod North Road Garage/Guttercrest Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, and will be targeting a a record-breaking sixth Manx National Rally victory.

David Wright/Jane Nicol complete the top three seeds in their GPM/DamperTek/Grove Hill Garage Fiesta Rally2.

Niall McGonigle/Caolan McKenna will start at number sixth in their Volkswagen Polo GTI R5 and Brad Cole/Jamie Vaughan are seeded at number eight in their Hydroline Solutions Fiesta Rally2.

Steve Wood/Kenny Hull have swapped their Citroën C3 Rally2 for a Volkswagen Polo GTI R5 and have been seeded at number nine, while rounding off the top 10 seeds are Roger Duckworth/Ian Windress in their Technia Fiesta R5. 

The top 2WD seeds are Lee Edwards/Sam Spencer at number 17 in their V6-engined Blakemore’s Autos/Evans Construction/P&B Tyres/Bailey Performance Escort G3, followed by Huw James/Lewis Sim in their new Fiat 131.
