The iconic Centre Road will feature on the Ynyscynon MOT Centre Tour of Epynt (25-26 July) for the first time since 2012, allowing organisers to introduce a new six-mile test.
Its return has enabled Port Talbot Motor Club to replace the two shorter stages originally planned with a single longer and more demanding challenge.
The new stage will be run twice on Saturday afternoon, with the first car leaving the start on Mynydd Epynt at 16:00.
Saturday’s route comprises four special stages covering approximately 32 competitive miles, while Sunday’s itinerary adds a further four stages totalling 57 competitive miles, giving crews almost 90 competitive miles over the weekend.
The Tour of Epynt hosts Round 5 of the Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship, with more than 100 entries already received.
Port Talbot Motor Club is still looking for additional marshals. Anyone able to help is encouraged to register via www.rallystageteam.co.uk or contact Chief Marshal Andrew Lane through the Port Talbot Motor Club website at www.porttalbotmotorclub.co.uk.
