Protyre extends Asphalt Rally Championship title sponsorship until the end of 2029

Protyre will continue as title sponsor of the Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship for a further three years, extending its partnership with the UK’s premier sealed-surface series until at least the end of the 2029 season.

The new agreement will extend Protyre’s title sponsorship of the championship to 12 consecutive seasons, underlining the strength and success of the partnership.

Protyre, the UK’s largest supplier of Pirelli, Michelin and Hoosier motorsport tyres, has supported the BTRDA-organised championship since its relaunch in 2018.

Stoke-on-Trent-based Protyre Motorsport will continue to provide an on-event service, supplying all brands of competition tyres at competitive rates to registered contenders. It will also maintain its event-by-event tyre rewards package for successful overall and class competitors, while working closely with the BTRDA to develop the championship on both a sporting and commercial basis.

The seven-round 2027 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship calendar will be announced in due course.

Protyre has also confirmed that it will continue to support the BTRDA’s gravel rally championship, the Protyre Autocare BTRDA Rally Series, for a further 12 months.

“We are delighted to continue our longstanding support of the Asphalt Rally Championship along with our wider involvement with the BTRDA,” said Shaun Chetwyn, Protyre Motorsport Manager.

“For Protyre Motorsport, we see this as a fabulous opportunity to put something back into the sport that we all love and cherish. We are looking forward to continuing our work with Mike and the team for many years to come.”

“We are delighted that after a highly successful nine-year partnership, Protyre has agreed to sponsor the Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship for a further three years,” said Mike Broad, President of the BTRDA.

“Protyre has been an integral part of the Asphalt Rally Championship since its relaunch in 2018. Since then, we have worked closely together to make the series an attractive, fun and competitive challenge for a wide variety of cars and crews of differing experience and ability.

“This new agreement guarantees that we can continue to develop the series together until at least the end of the 2029 season – creating calendars that will include the very best closed road stage rallies in the UK, offering valuable overall and class incentives and investing in initiatives like the ever-improving live-streaming service.

“It’s a great partnership, and we’d very much like to thank Shaun Chetwyn and all his Protyre colleagues for their continued support.”

“The title sponsorship, on-event tyre service and generous event-by-event tyre rewards provided by Protyre are second to none in British rallying. Knowing that this support will continue for another three years is tremendous news for the Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship,” said Paul Wakely, Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship Co-ordinator.

“We look forward to continuing our work with Protyre to develop the series and ensure that competitors in every class enjoy the very best that British closed-road asphalt rallying can offer.”
