M-Sport offers biggest prize in British national rallying again – a Protyre Asphalt Championship test in a Ford Puma Rally1

M-Sport will once again provide the biggest prize in British national rallying by offering the top-placed Ford finisher at the end of the 2025 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship a private test drive in a Ford Puma Rally1.

The test in M-Sport’s FIA World Rally Championship car will take place at the M-Sport Evaluation Centre test track located at the team’s headquarters in Cockermouth, Cumbria.

In addition, if the top-placed Ford driver is driving a Fiesta Rally2, they will have the opportunity to bring their own car to M-Sport for the Rally2 support team to undertake a full systems check and shakedown, to ensure that the car is performing at its optimum and set up to the latest specifications.

“I’m very pleased to be able to offer this Puma Rally1 driving experience again for the top-placed Ford driver in this year’s championship,” said Malcolm Wilson OBE, Managing Director M-Sport UK Ltd.

“These national championships are very close to my heart, and it gives me great satisfaction to be able to offer this prize to upcoming talent in the UK.

“The Protyre Asphalt Championship represents some of the best Tarmac rallies this country has to offer and is one of the most prestigious championships in the UK rallying scene, so it’s a pleasure to be able to support them with this fantastic prize.

“Wishing the best of luck to this year’s competitors and I look forward to welcoming the winner to M-Sport towards the end of the year.”

Callum Black won the M-Sport prize last year after clinching the 2024 Protyre Asphalt title in his 568 Sport-prepared Pallas Connections Ford Fiesta Rally2. He was given a VIP tour of M-Sport by Rich Millener (Team Principal, M-Sport Ford World Rally Team) and Tom Krawszik (Rally2 Customer Liaison & Car Sales) and drove a Puma Rally1 on a day that he and co-driver Jack Morton will never forget.

“It’s wonderful that M-Sport is offering this prize once again and that someone else will enjoy the experience I was privileged to receive,” says Callum.

“It’s certainly an irreplaceable memory for me and something that I’ll be able to treasure for the rest of my life. There are only a handful of drivers across the world that can say they’ve had the opportunity to drive a Rally1 car and there are a lot of talented drivers that haven’t and possibly never will – so from that perspective it’s like winning a golden ticket!

“I’m certain that whoever wins it will enjoy it just as much as I did.

“I take my hat off to M-sport, it’s an incredible prize and to offer it for a consecutive year shows how generous Malcolm [Wilson] and his team are. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left I felt like royalty, and I was lucky to have multiple engineers and technicians on hand to take advice from. That in itself is invaluable. Best of luck to the Ford competitors this year!”

“A private test in a Puma Rally1 is the biggest prize in British national rallying and to offer it to the top-placed Ford finisher in the Protyre Asphalt Rally Championship for a second year highlights the unrivalled contribution that Malcolm Wilson and M-Sport continue to make to British clubman rallying,” says Paul Wakely, Protyre Asphalt Rally Championship Co-ordinator.

“We are indebted to everyone at M-Sport for their kindness and generosity in offering a truly magnificent prize that every Ford driver will want to win.”
