Adrian Spencer’s magnificent RED Industries/Adgespeed Subaru Impreza S5 WRC lookalike has won the Dynamic Fluids Best Presented Car Award, ahead of tomorrow’s R Kings Down Rally (22 August).
The Manchester driver, who this year is celebrating 50 years of rallying, is synonymous with Subarus – having competed in them for the last two decades.
All have been self-built, except for an ex-Petter Solberg Subaru Impreza S11 World Rally Car he bought in 2015.
Adrian started building his current two-door Subaru Impreza S5 WRC lookalike in 2018 and campaigned an Impreza S11 WRC replica whilst the new car came together.
The Impreza S5 WRC lookalike made its competitive debut at the end of last season and has scored a Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship Class 2 win on the Borders Competitions Jim Clark and the Ynyscynon MOT Centre Tour of Epynt.
Co-driven by Mark Hewitt, Adrian takes the Protyre Asphalt Class 2 lead into this weekend’s penultimate round of the series.
The Dynamic Fluids Best Presented Car Award was presented to Adrian by Protyre Asphalt Co-ordinator Paul Wakely.
Organised by Rathfriland Motor Club, tomorrow’s Down Rally features eight closed road special stages totalling 61.4 stage miles. The rally will start at 08:45, with the finish ceremony at The Boulevard precinct in Banbridge from 17:00 onwards.
