BREAKING NEWS: Jason Pritchard scores maximum Protyre Asphalt points on the Down Rally

Jason Pritchard has scored maximum Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship points on the R Kings Down Rally, after a magnificent drive in his Pirelli-shod North Road Garage/Guttercrest Toyota GR Yaris Rally2.

Co-driven for the first time by Rob Fagg, the three-time champion was in a huge battle with Brad Cole/Jamie Vaughan (Hydroline Solutions Ford Fiesta Rally2), with the Somerset driver leading the BTRDA field at mid-distance.

Jason took the Protyre Asphalt lead (by just 0.1 seconds) after SS5 and ended the eight-stage event just 3.1 seconds ahead of Brad, and in fourth-place overall.

Lee Edwards/Sam Spencer were the top 2WD crew home and scored a sensational third Protyre Asphalt overall result in their rear-wheel drive Blakemore’s Autos/Evans Construction Ford Escort G3.

Aled Wyn Morgans/Jack Bowen scored fourth-place points to continue their magnificent 2026 run in their Aberystwyth Motorsport/OW’s Cabs Fiesta Rally2.

Ian Forgan/Chris Lees (Mercury Motorsport Fiesta Rally2), Steve Wood/Kenny Hall (Rachel’s Organic Volkswagen Polo GTI R5) and John Stone/Rhys Stoneman (Legend Performance Engineering/Legend Fires Volkswagen Polo GTI R5) had a fantastic battle, and just 6.4 seconds separated all three after SS5. They eventually took home fifth, sixth and seventh place points respectively.
